The business and the problem
Rodney's Auto Sales and Parts is an established used car dealership and parts seller on Eastern Avenue in Brampton.
Car buyers shortlist vehicles on their phone before they drive to a lot. A dealership needs its stock online, searchable and up to date, plus an easy way to start a financing application. Otherwise those buyers end up on a competitor's lot.
What Rocks Media built
Rocks Media built Rodney's a custom dealership website that works like a showroom you can browse from the couch.
- Inventory listings with filters for make, body type, year and price
- Featured vehicles on the homepage
- Online financing application form
- Separate Parts section for the parts side of the business
- Click-to-call and a map to the Eastern Avenue lot
- Google reviews shown on the site
The layout puts the cars first. The homepage leads into featured stock, and the filters let people narrow things down in a couple of taps on a phone. The financing form is a few clicks from any vehicle, because most used car buyers need financing and that form is the lead that matters most. The site carries a Rocks Media credit in the footer.
Design decisions
Most used car buyers need financing, so the financing page leads with the reassurance buyers look for, like approval for different credit situations and $0 down options, and shows the major Canadian banks the dealership works with as trust signals.
The parts business gets its own section rather than being mixed into the car listings. Someone looking for a part and someone shopping for a car want different things, and separating them keeps both journeys short. The moody mountain-road hero with the line Your next car starts here sets the tone without a single stock photo of a handshake.
Rodney's shares its Eastern Avenue address with Clockwork Auto Auctions, and both sites were built by Rocks Media for very different audiences. Rodney's speaks to the public buying a car. Clockwork speaks to licensed dealers trading stock. Same street, same care, completely different sites, because the customers are different.
